Branch Explorer is a powerful tool combining data pipelining with analysis tools that allows you to generate unique insights about your business, your website, and your audience. There are just a few steps to get all set up; you can expect the steps to take 45-75 minutes.

Your two tasks ahead:

1. Setting up the data pipeline inside our partner, Jepto’s, application. Most of the setup takes place here (35-45 minutes).
2. Setting up Branch Explorer where the pipeline’s vast data will be visualized in ways that help you find actionable insights. You’ll personalize your Explorer by updating 4 key fields (2-4 minutes).

1. Jepto Data Pipelining Setup

You’ll begin setting up Branch Explorer by creating an account in Jepto. Before you sign up, decide where to store your Google Search Console (GSC) data.

Store in Jepto’s Cloud

The benefits:

• My data is stored in a private Google Cloud Project that is managed by Jepto
• I have an easier setup
• Data storage is free
• I can query up to 2TB of GSC data per month for free. Jepto will passthrough Google’s query costs at $5/TB

Store in My Cloud

The benefits:

• My data is stored in my Google Cloud Project
• I have increased control during setup
• I’m responsible for storage costs (first 10GB/month are free )
• I’m responsible for query costs (first 2TB /month are free) and then $5/TB

After you set up your pipeline in Jepto, in 15-25 minutes, your pipeline will be populated with up to the last 16 months worth of data.

2. Branch Explorer Setup

Next you’ll create Explorer reports in Looker Studio and connect them with your data sources.

After your data has backfilled, you’ll get an email from [email protected] with a link that reads, “Build My Report”. Click the link to build the initial report.

Be Patient. It takes Looker Studio 10-30 seconds to build your report after you click the link.
